Question 8: "What should our focus be when teaching comprehension strategies in the intermediate grade levels (4th through 6th)? In which ways should we guide book choice?"
I think that students' language proficiency should guide our focus when thinking of comprehension strategies. When thinking about guiding book choice I think that we need to keep in mind the importance of reading in the first language and reading in the content areas.
