  1. For those of you who don't already know my question, I am looking for good computer games and other interactive multimedia methods of teaching English, particularly on the internet. The first thing that must be stressed is that this is not something that should be done in class, these are supplemental only. I didn't get to play Math Blaster in class when I was a kid, I played it at home for fun when I was bored. This is because the authentic interaction in the classroom is extremely necessary, not only to build CALPs, but to build confidence as well.

I will be looking at free online games, and reviews of cheap games that encourage the use of sub-skills and holistic skills that may be effectively used inside of a unit.

I do want to stress again though, this is not a replacement for classroom activities and interaction. It can take seven years to develop CALPs, don't cheat the kids in their development by putting them in front of a game that seems to regularly use BICs language to give instruction.
